The instructors
Like many of you, we are feeling the stress, an inevitable effect of the global pandemic. We understand the challenges of being a small business owner during these uncertain times and want you to know we are here to support you and provide you with tools to connect with your patients - enabling you to keep your virtual lights on and give patients a path to recovery even if offices are temporarily closed.
We believe telerehabilitation is a critical part of this solution, which is why we have spent the past week becoming a certified (HIPAA and PIPEDA compliant) telerehabilitation platform. Telerehabilitation provides an opportunity for physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals to care for their patients anywhere.
Everyone should have access to telerehabilitation. Cost and complexity should not be a barrier.
Telerehabilitation on Embodia is simple and free for our members so any physiotherapist or rehabilitation professional can provide care to their patients remotely. With the outbreak of COVID-19 we live in unprecedented times and are charting unknown waters, but we are charting them together. Embodia is here to support its community of 12,000+ healthcare professionals so that they can keep the virtual lights on during a challenging time. We've got your back.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines “telehealth” as the use of telecommunications and virtual technology to deliver health care outside of traditional health-care facilities. The terms telehealth, telerehab, and virtual care may be used interchangeably.
Virtual Care is defined as assessment, consultative or treatment interventions that are delivered by remotely, in a confidential and professional manner, using a private and secure platform (HIPPA and PIPEDA compliant) or telephonically by staff or consultant clinicians.
In some instances, payors will have rules in terms of whether they will pay for video or telephone visits. In addition, it is anticipated that various payors will revise their service delivery expectations and possibly their rates over time.
