Demystifying Physiotherapy Contracts and Employment Agreements

Demystifying Physiotherapy Contracts and Employment Agreements

Demystifying Physiotherapy Contracts and Employment Agreements

Jun 18, 2024 - 22:00 (EDT)
1 hour

Overview

At Kids Physio, we connect with and interview dozens of MPT students every year, and we've noticed that many physiotherapists are graduating without confidence in how to critically analyze the job offers they receive. Since there are many ways to be employed (contractor, employee, salary, etc.) as a physiotherapist, our field can be difficult to navigate...so we want to help!

Whether you are hoping to find a job with us, in another private practice clinic, or even in a public institution, this webinar aims to help support your understanding of job offers so you can have the tools to find the very best job for you.

The session will include 25 minutes of informative content related to the learning objectives below, followed by an interactive Q&A segment, where we will be joined by accountant Dylan Hughes, CPA to provide additional context and support in addressing your questions.

Please note: This webinar is being offered twice on June 18th. The first session is at 7 PM EST (4 PM PST) - go here to register for this time. The second session is offered at 10 PM EST (7 PM PST) - Register on the current page for this time. You can change the time zone on your Embodia account by following the steps outlined in this guide.

Learning Objectives

In this free webinar, we will:

  1. Define different employment classifications such as independent contractor, commission-based employee, hourly employee, and salary;

  2. Become aware of some common and basic tax and legal considerations relevant to physiotherapy professionals;

  3. Learn tips on how to model—and therefore compare—job offers with different compensation types;

  4. Gain confidence in assigning a value to clinical mentorship, career support, growth opportunities, and other ‘perks’ when reviewing job offers;

  5. Have your burning questions answered in a no-cost, no-judgment, and low-stakes environment. We’ve negotiated hundreds of contracts and employment agreements and have probably heard it before!

Audience

This webinar will be most helpful for new-to-practice physiotherapists or anyone keen to better understand contracts and employment agreements in the physiotherapy field. It may also be relevant for current MPT students, new-to-Canada practitioners, or physiotherapists overwhelmed by the idea of reviewing a job offer.
